also my favorite. i think it is as hopeful as it is depressing - human potential is something exciting, worth fighting for, even if the ship is sinking...

I agree, I too am very found of Island. It is interesting that Huxley was troubled with the way it turned out yet we all like it so much. The plot is
extremely thin, even for Huxley, but for those who are looking for ideas it touches on so much of the human experience and human condition.
